My first car, a Skoda

The first car I ever owned was a Skoda, made in Czechoslovakia. My father had a Skoda dealership and when I was looking for my first car, with little money, a Skoda seemed the obvious answer, with some help from my mum and dad.

This photo is not my actual car, but the same model, about 1963, I think. Mine was a dark green colour. Anyway it went pretty well for a 1100cc engine. My dad made a floor shift for me as I did not like the column shift. Later on, I got a Skoda Felicia, which is a convertible version. (photo to come)

An interesting thing about these cars, the front and rear windscreens were identical.
